Newborns constantly feeding and emptying bowels

Hello,

My newborns 6 days old today and started off to breastfeeding a little iffy. Thankfully in the last day she's learnt to latch on (thankfully!!).
The time she feeds has increased to around an hour on and off. Usually she eats then sleeps and usually has a wet nappy and poop in after.
Although today she's decided to mix it up a bit. I gave her a feed for an hour, she had about a 30 minute break and has now been on and off for about 3 hours with 3 quite big poops in between.

I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if the pooing in between is normal? (They're of the same consistency and colour as her usual poops).

Thank you! Smile

It's totally normal.

Completely normal. Congratulations.

Normal. Sent to add to the rest of the stresses of the shattered and bewildered new mum. Grin
In my early new mum days, I regularly muttered to nobody in particular that they should be born easy to look after until you got used to them and add in the complex bits later!
Congratulations!

Yep my baby was "one in, one out" for the first few weeks.
Congratulations!

Thanks everyone, I think I just needed to see that others had experienced it.
One worry ticked off!

My baby did a poo at the beginning of every feed (he would latch on but wait until after his poo to start feeding) and usually pooed after for the first few weeks.
