You might find she takes better from different teats. For example, my DS refuses Avent bottles but has been fine with Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature ones. Also, I have heard that some babies prefer latex teats rather than silicone ones (I think they are softer, more flesh like).

How many hours a day will you be working?
She will be 6 months by then and maybe easier to give her a cup with a soft spout in the day.

My ds1 refused a bottle until we eventually bough really cheap latex teats and he took to them straight away

It may be worth thinking about trying different formula as well. Ds2 wouldn't have SMA at all, but happily took to Hipp.

My DDs were all breast fed and if I wanted to express then I had a real job getting them to take from a bottle. The HV told me to try a orthodontic teat, which really helped big time. What I would suggest to you is get her used to taking breast milk from an orthodontic teat and bottle, then when she is used to drinking that then change over to formula!

Ds1 refused breast milk from a bottle but took formula fine fussy little sod

My DD would take no bottle at all.

Finally I tried NUK and it was miraculous

Also have heard a tip on here of getting DH to give the bottle, but wrapped in one of your used bras, so that it smells right.

pinkbubble · 29/09/2007 22:33

Bet DH loved that wearing your bra!

WHat methods of expressing have you tried?
