Unsettled crying 10 week old...tried everything

Hi,
This is my first post. I am a first time mum and my 10 week old baby boy is so unsettled and seems so restless and uncomfortable.
I have tried everything
Infacol-bunged him up
Gripe water-makes him sick
Aptimel comfort-bunged him up and then when he did go it was like an expolsion, green and smelly and painful for him. He was originally on Aptimel 1 but didn't seem to agree with him so that's why I changed to comfort.
I spoke to my gp on Thursday he has prescribed Aptimel peptide and Colief, he has been on them both since Friday and no change. I am honestly running out of ideas 😭

For all the people suggesting cows milk protein intolerance: aptamil pepti is a hydrolysed formula, for treating cows milk protein intolerance. Though it usually takes more than a few days to have much of an effect.
Aptsmil Pepti has the proteins broken down but they are still present. If he has CMPA he’d need neocate or neutramigan (sp) both of these are prescribed by a doctor

Another thing That really helped me with my daughter who sounds indenticle to your son is a sling. The big material wrap around ones that you tie up. Really helped!! And I could get on with things whilst she happily slept in there

I’m late to the party but it sounds like CMPA my 17 week old has it, we figured it out at about 6 weeks and once I cut out all milk/soy he was much improved within a few days, by 2/3 weeks he was a whole new baby.

If you’re bottle feeding call your GP and ask for Aptamil pepti formula. Not nurtamigen as it’s full of soy and 60% of CMPA babies also can’t tolerate soy.

In the meantime try warm baths and bicycle legs. Tummy massage tutorials from YouTube also helped and some cool boiled water (HV suggested this for gastric distress)

At 10 weeks old all he wants is to be held by you. Get settled on the settee, have someone bring you tea and biscuits and cuddle, cuddle, cuddle. Get a sling for other times. Listen to your baby, not your mother/MIL xx

@Jace28

My mother in law say he is 'needy' because he is picked up too much but I thought you couldnt spoil a new baby by picking them up when they cry?🤷‍♀️
You can’t, don’t worry about spoiling him.

He may be overtired. Does he sleep better in the pram? I walked miles with mine.

I agree this could be milk protein allergy. My daughter had this causing silent reflux and was exactly the same. We ended up in anti reflux meds and a prescribed formula which made so much difference. I hope he settles down for you soon but see your gp if not.

Try a sling - my dd was a very cry-y baby and when I wore her constantly in a sling she settled down so much

I stopped trying to get her to sleep in a cot or buggy as she just wasn’t doing it and she slept on me in the sling as I walked around and then she started to get more sleep

My DD was exactly like this. Wouldn't sleep much at all, and when awake was usually crying. Tried the same stuff as you with the same results. DD would never feed much either, would start off ok and then start arching her back and then refuse anything else. She'd cry as she was hungry and then it was as if we were feeding her something awful. Our health visitor watched her feed and recommended lactose free milk. This didn't necessarily fix everything (she's 8 now and still doesn't sleep very well!) but made life a lot more comfy for all concerned. She went into normal milk at about 6 months so it was a temporary thing she grew out of.
