Cocodamol & Breast-Feeding - OK?

Probably been asked loads, but need quick answer. After-pains and stitches pretty painful today - DS was born on Wed eve. Feeding well, but bit worried about taking Cocodamol for the pain, even though the hospital midwives said it would be fine.

any thoughts?

Thanks as ever for the wonderful knowledge on here!

i took some while bf'ing when i hurt my shoulder once. tried only to take it when it was bad as didnt want to do more than neccessary..

but imo, you should be absolutely fine. you have to weigh it up; benefits of a bit of pain releif and rest and much needed peace perhaps, against (tiny?) risk of crossing the boobs... boobs are pretty good filters imo.

if the mw's said its ok, then it surely is, no?

I was prescribed some on tuesday. I was in hospital having tests for my headaches. I asked if it was safe to take whilst bf and the doctor went off and checked. They are

I took it for weeks after my c-section because I was in a lot of pain for various reasons. I think it's quite commonly prescribed

hey fettle....i hope things are OK, apart from the stitches...ouch!

I was on co-codamol for a few weeks after my section and was taking the maximum dose in that time. At one point I was sat watching the clock and taking it as soon as my four hours were up!

Hospital doctor told me it doesn't get into your milk.
