Suggestions for stopping bf (or not)

DD2 now just over a year. Still bf, morning, evening, in between if we feel like it. Happy with that most of the time, and I'm happy that it's good for her, also that on the occasions when she's a little unwell I can always make her feel better with a feed.

With DD1 I had a target for stopping, and gradually gave her follow-on milk instead, stopping without too much drama just before her first birthday.

Now, I don't want to stop feeding DD2, as such. But come December I have to leave her overnight with my mum, just one night, but she can go a bit crazy if she doesn't get her bedtime feed. I don't feed her to sleep, but she likes a feed as last thing before bed.

So, can I somehow carry on feeding her, but also allow myself this night off? I just want it all, don't I?

You may find she will be fine - YOU (ie your milk) won't be there so she might just accept that.
Can you have a dry run where you are nearby and can intervene if necessary.
I have just stopped feeding my 19mo, two weeks ago I would never have imagined he would go to sleep without his bedtime feed. Now he doesn't even ask for it.

Of course you can do it.
Feed when yuo are around and don't when you are not.Worked fine for me-for 21/2 years and full time work and occasional days/nights away.

You can have it all.

Yes!

I can have it all!

Best have a practise though, eh? Perhaps I'll send her for a mini holiday at her nan's.
