Does mastitis make you feel spaced out and dizzy?

DD is almost 15 weeks. I've had various problems with BFing but her latch seems to be getting worse as time goes on and she isn't draining me properly causing nasty blocked ducts on occasion.

i woke up this morning to pain in my breast and a red painful area next to my aereole (sp?). I have been trying to feed her on that side as much as possible and have been massaging, hot flannels etc, but the red area seems to be spreading and is very very painful indeed. For the last half hour I hve been feeling really woozy and disassociated from the wolrd.

Would mastitis do this or is it something else entirey...eg, I've had a raging sore throat on and off for ages.

TIA

I'm glad it's a lot better. I know not everyone needs to take antibiotics for mastitis, but sometimes, when they are really needed, they are fantastic.

glad things are better today daisy. The worst of it has now passed and your moving towards the clear road again! Have you tried all fours to try and clear the blockage? Or the Marmet Hand Expressing? or what about Lecithin for recurring blocked Ducts

or you could go all natural and use the Silverlon Healing Breast Pad This has been reviewed by tips ltd

thanks determination.

All the redness has now gone apart froma small patch, but it is still very very nippy.

I'm going to the Baby Cafe on Thursday to see if I can get some help with my latch, and have been making a concerted effort to get her properly latched today.

A friend of mine is trying those silverette patches so I'll see what she says....they seem like a lot of money really.....would silver elastoplast do the same thing?

My norks are a bit big and I've been holding them whilst she has been feeding which probably hasn't helped. I've also been taking her off when it gets a bit sore towards the end of a feed which I read on Kellymom doesn't help either. Trouble is if I take her off cos it's nipping and she's near the end of her feed she won't latch on again.

We are getting there though....although her first tooth erupted yesterday...that will bring its own problems I fear!

Thanks for your help
