Breastfeeding at 10 months

I’m just wondering if there’s a “normal” amount that a 10 month old should breastfeed in a day? My DS has significantly dropped feeds, he only wants first thing in the morning for about 8 minutes, mid afternoon and only for 5 mins, before bed and once in the night. He’s on 3 meals a day; breakfast is usually demolished and lunch and dinner are largely picked at but rarely finished. He has one mid morning snack.
His development is great, he’s a happy boy (except when he’s teething 😬) and he’s always sat on 25th centile. Obviously given the current situation I can’t get him weighed to check he’s doing OK but he just never asks for milk anymore. I’m on breastfeeding Facebook groups and women there seem to be feeding similar age babies around 5 times a day and a few times at night. I know they’re all different but I just worry that he’s dropping milk so fast 🤷‍♀️

I think it varies enormously. If he’s happy, I really wouldn’t worry Smile

@JiltedJohnsJulie I know you’re right! In fact I tell my other mum friends not to compare and yet here I am doing it! I guess if he was hungry he’d be letting me know about it

I was told that at 9 months they need a minimum of 2/3 feeds per day. I was back to work by that age with both of mine and neither really took a bottle, so on work days they were having morning, 6pm, bedtime and night feeds (twice for DD, around 6 times for DS!). They seem to vary how much food they eat. Some days loads and others it doesn't seem like much. You will have some idea of how he is growing (clothes not fitting, filling nappies, generally thriving). We also weighed ours on adult scales by holding them (weighing ourselves alone and with baby). It's obviously not accurate but gives a sense over time of growth. (I wouldn't suggest doing this if you are properly concerned about weight though).

By 10 months dd had self weaned during the day so only had night feeds.

Thanks @BendingSpoons and @LoisLittsLover
He’s definitely growing; we do the old standing on our scales and hold him trick and it is going up. I’m just a worrier! He was such a boob monster when he was really little, never bloody off them! He’s just so interested in the world now and wanting to go cruising around the furniture instead.
