Should I change formulas??

Hi all.
My ds3 is 9 weeks and Ive been ff for 4 weeks. One of the reasons I stopped bf is because he has a slight tongue tie and he was constantly full of wind/being sick etc,(as was ds2) so I switched to SMA at 5 weeks thinking a bottle and teat would be easier for him. Well, the actual bottle feeding is fine, he took straight to it, but he is still full of wind and is sick after every single feed. I have never known a baby to be sick so much. He will only have 3oz at a time, if that, but still brings some up. He is gaining weight okay, but the last few days he's not even taking this much at a feed.
Do you think it could be the formula? That he just doesnt like it?Can you swap over ok? Does anyone have any experience of this?
Hope I make a bit of sense!

We swapped from SMA to Aptimil - seems fine, and the HV said there shouldn't be any difficulty in the changeover in anythign up to 12 weeks, but perhaps you should get a reflux test done at the doctors?

Oddly enough, I just posted a question about my 9 month old still being sick, after not thinking about her being sick for months and months. She has always been sick and changing the formula didn't do a thing. I was always told that as long as she was healthy and happy and growing I didn't have to worry. But I used to change her little suits about 6 times a day because she was just constantly sick and I carried muslins around all the time - and still do. I really hope this doesn't last for you, and I have NO ADVICE and can't say anything that helps!! but I think it's okay, anyway, and that you shouldn't worry.

However, if he's only taking 3 oz at a time, it does sound like he doesn't like the SMA. Mine didn't - she only likes Aptamil. however, when I switched to Aptamil it took her over a week before she really started to like it. She needed to get used to it.

Sorry to sound like a bird brain but what exactly is a reflux test?
I know it might sound strange but Ive kind of been on automatic pilot and then suddenly I thought hang on this is just too much too often!
It is honestly like he isnt interested in his feed at all.

I am sick of the smell of baby sick, and apart from changing his clothes, i go through at least 3 tops a day!
Luckily our settee is leather too cos I noticed a lovely white streak down the back of it this morning after our early morning feed!!

for very young babies, apparently you can get a test at the doctors for reflux, which is excessive vomiting caused by high levels of acidity in the baby's stomach. The doctor will then be able to prescribe something to help reduce the acidity and hopefully allow for your ds to hold down the milk long enought to digest it fully. In adults, it is just hearturn and we don't vomit, but vomiting can be a symptom in babies. HTH
