Best app for tracking?

Asking for a friend as my Bf days are behind me - and involved a notebook for DC1 but graduated to basic notes on a phone for DC2. Must be some amazing apps out there by now - any you'd recommend??

I've used a few but Huckleberry is my favourite. Easy to use and also tracks sleep giving suggestions on next nap times which has brilliant for me.

I use Baby Tracker, remembers everything for me!

GingerGingerGingerGinger · 19/02/2020 14:46

Why do you need this?

Hope06 · 20/02/2020 17:32

So that I don’t need to try and remember how many times she pees in a day and what boob I last pumped from ect.

GingerGingerGingerGinger · 21/02/2020 19:44

But you don't need to remember exactly how many times she pees...do you change her every two to three hours and are her nappies wet? Then try not to worry. Wear a bracelet and swap it over to the other side when you've fed her. Looking at your baby for cues as to what she needs and trusting your instincts is much better than relying on an app to tell you what to do.

MrsJoshNavidi · 21/02/2020 19:56

Jeez! An app to tell us how to look after our babies HmmShockConfused

Hope06 · 21/02/2020 20:49

The app doesnt tell me what to do, it helps me remember when I last expressed.
Each to there own but I find it very helpful

GingerGingerGingerGinger · 21/02/2020 21:15

Of course. But you could just write it on a piece of paper (?)

WhiteVixen · 21/02/2020 21:44

A other vote for Huckleberry here.

SAMlady · 21/02/2020 22:05

Feed Baby was great, still use it to track meds

SuddenArborealStop · 21/02/2020 22:30

I use feed baby, I don't use a pen and paper as I always have my phone nearby so it's easier to use it.

Verbena87 · 21/02/2020 22:43

Look at baby. If hungry (rooting, looking for a boob, crying), squeeze boobs. Attach baby to boob that feels fuller.

But I was privileged to have a years mat leave and a pretty easy breastfeeding journey, so my method definitely wouldn’t suit everyone.

WhateverHappenedToBathPearls · 21/02/2020 22:46

I used baby tracker. But looking back, I'm not sure those apps are good for your sanity.

LindaLyndell · 21/02/2020 22:49

We used Huckleberry and amazingly, I'm still a good mother 🙄 mum shamers are out in force this evening, eh?!

mrspotatohed · 21/02/2020 22:51

I use baby tracker to track feeding and nappies 😄

cornishmama93 · 22/02/2020 16:44

Glow baby

GingerGingerGingerGinger · 22/02/2020 22:10

Linda it's not "mumshaming" to encourage new mums to use their instincts, gomwith the flow and listen to their baby. It's quite concerning how people are starting to rely on machines to help them with basic tasks that humans are actually better at than machines. Also, there really is no need to record every time your baby has their nappy changes, does a poo etc. The constant recording and checking can create anxiety.

Heyha · 22/02/2020 22:13

I used huckleberry for sleep tracking...helped see patterns when we were trying to establish routine. I've also plotted her growth data on it and it gives you actual percentiles rather than the "around there" plots the HV gives in the book (has a few concerns so accuracy has helped). I haven't used it for feeds but if that part of it is as good as the other bits it'd be a thumbs up

Hope06 · 23/02/2020 03:25

Recording how many times and for how long I express in a day, or looking at her feeding pattern is helpful to me.
It doesn’t create anxiety for me nor does it take away my instincts or ability to take cues from my baby.
I don’t want to write it on a bit of paper that will get lost or binned.
Also the way that your writing is a bit mum shaming, so what if some of us like apps and others don’t. Like I said before, each to their own.

Mamabear04 · 26/02/2020 20:26

I use Amelia tracker. It honestly is so easy to use - just click a button (left/right/bottle) and it times it for you and logs all the stats. My LO has reflux and it helped me to answer all the doctors questions when I was functioning on only a couple of hours sleep and couldn't even remember how many weeks old she was Blush it also tracks sleep and nappies which are really helpful if your memory is shit like mine or want to see how consistent they are being with naps etc

Verbena87 · 26/02/2020 21:01

Genuine apologies if I came across as mum shaming. Definitely advocating do-what-works-for-you-and-your-baby here!
