Should I stop bf ds2 because I am pg? ds2 is 19 weeks old and I'm pg again by accident. gp reckons I will be too tired to bf while pg, is this true? I reckon I'm 6 weeks pg and I don't feel any worse than I did last time... It's the last thing I expected to be told and it's thrown me because I was so proud of myself for bf this long, was hoping to carry on til ds2 is at least 1 year old... Anyone got any advice? tia

sas, what evidence do you have to say it is hard on your body?
"yes, for you personally, it would be bbetter for your health to stop"
why?
human beings are not cows women and erm sheep happily feed twins and triplets.

absolutly harpsi! my fathers story is anecdotal. he hmself never became a farmer. but that is what they did on the farm he grew up on. (he left at a young age to go to school and college and wasa pilot in the airforce for a while, so definitly not an expert!}
its hard on a womans body because she is having to provide sustenance for three separate individuals. it is certainly phsically possible, and there are many stories of women doing so successfully. but that doesnt mean that every woman should strive to do so. however with modern healthcare, particularly in the uk, a good diet, and good health and fitness to begin with, i'm sure it can be done, if someone wants to do so.
bu no one should feel a failure if they are not able to do so. iyswim

I did have a few problems feeding whilst pregnant that did make me want to stop, but they resolved themselves and then Dd stopped just as everything was fine!
Sensitive nips were a problem for me but I'm sure this is different for everyone. I also found it slightly uncomfortable on my bump when I fed in the usual position but this could easily be sorted by changing position. I didn't find that I was anymore tired than with my first pregnancy although I did find my milk supply dipped. Dd had already started dropping feeds so this was probably related to that as I know lots of people keep feeding throughout!
Good luck and ignore your GP!
I found the book and it's one released by the La Leche League 'The Womanly art of breastfeeding'. The chapter on feeding whilst pregnant/tandem feeding wasn't as big as I thought but it is quite a helpful book.
Good luck!
