Reflux baby poor feeding

My 11 week old DD suffers from reflux and has been really bad with it the past few days. She's not feeding really maybe every 5 hours and then being sick. We ended up being sent to hospital yesterday by the GP but after lots of tests comimg back negative for urine infections etc, ultrasounds to check her bowels and blood tests (which is good but frustrating that there is not quick solution to help her) the doctor said to go cows milk free - something I've been doing of my own accord for a week now and they will reassess in 6 weeks time.

My poor baby isnt getting any proper sleep due to the reflux and now she is not eating well I am so worried. Last night she fed at 10pm and kept it down but then fed at 2am and was sick a huge amount and then didn't feed until 7:30am and even then only for 10 minutes!!! I am so worried about her.

When they weighed her yesterday she had dropped a percentile. I asked the doctor if I should give my DD some cow's milk free formula to help her gain weight but she said no to stick with breastfeeding (which she is exclusively). I've been trying to encourage my baby to feed more often but she wont take it unless she is hungry. I feel so guilty for not being able to feed her properly and so helpless to see her suffer. I don't know what to do. I feel like it's my fault because I'm the only one that can feed her. What else can I do? I am so worried about her my heart is breaking

Honestly ladies my left boob is like a super soaker ok so definitely have a read of the link in my last post and give one of the BFing Helplines a call in the morning to talk it through with a BFC.

All of this could simply be fast letdown and with a few tips, everything could be resolved Smile

@JiltedJohnsJulie I've been taking her off my left boob and stopping the flow until it slows down and then putting her back on so I don't think that should be the problem.i definitely think it's a reflux problem rather than a flow problem unfortunately Sad

How was your appointment at the GI clinic? Can i ask how you got an appointment?

I have an 12 day old with many of the symptoms of reflux but no diagnosis. I'm doing all the no medication things for now but each day she seems to vomit more. Got GP soon...

@Asli2020 DD was 13 days old the first time we ended up at out of hours at the sick kids with her reflux. They didn't prescribe her medicine as she was so tiny and new. It's taken until she is 3 months to get an appointment at the GI clinic because I think they were waiting to see if she would grow out of it being a newborn. We have been back and forth to the GP and finally they referred her to see a consultant. I think we were fast tracked because we had to attend out of hours a few times and the last time we went to see the GP she wasn't feeding properly and had been vomiting all night so we were sent to a&e with a letter from the doctor as she thought she was a bit dehydrated. If I'm honest I think the doctor was just really nice and trying to speed things along but that day at the hospital they did lots of tests and found that she was not gaining weight as much as they would like. I would advise just keep going to the doctor if you are worried. I didn't like the idea of my LO taking medication but as she got a bit older it has really helped her so for me it's a no brainer and also I know she won't be on it long term.

The appointment was helpful because the consultant actually diagnosed her with acid reflux (my HV has been saying she didn't think she had it which has been so frustrating) he upped her medication (she's taking omeprazole) and he said that if she is ready at 4.5 months then we should begin he weaning process (he said he thought that this would really help). Although there is no quick fix I feel positive that there is a plan in place and the consultant was really nice and gave me his phone number so now I don't have to go to the GP I can just call him which is a God send!
