We're about to go away on our hols and it'll be dds first flight-shes 13 months.

Is it possible to feed or do the seat belts stop you?

It'd be so much easier if i can!

I have flown with dd (20 mo) twice now, once at 4mos and once at 16mos and the lap belt that they strap to the baby that straps onto you is very moveable and I easily laid her down to nurse almost non stop (when she was 4 months - dehydrated I think!). You should be fine!

I fed dd during take off and landing. The straps are attached to your belt. Not super long but enough room to feed. Make sure she's strapped in first if you think she may fall asleep. Dd fell asleep on me on the way home and as we were coming in to land I had to strap her in and it woke her

dd was 5.5 months and three weeks older when i flew. each time she breastfed during take off and landing.
dont kno w about being abe ot fit a thirteen month old on lap though

princessmel · 28/08/2007 14:43

Yes you will be able to fit her . dd fell asleep on way back this time too. She was 22 months. Just had her legs poking dh.

Put her in position for bf, then put the seatbelt on.
This may be obvious but it wasn't to me and I ended up having to undo it and start again

Thanks everyone! Thank god! I'm sure it'll be the only way to get her to sleep and help her ears! Just hope she doesn't get too distracted! !

ds was 17 months when he first flew. My plan to feed at take off and landing didn't work. ds was too busy looking out the window and signing aeroplane with both hands at once! The change in pressure didn't bother him one bit. It would have been possible with the seatbelts though. Enjoy your hols!
