Breastfeeding Help

Backstory: I breastfed my baby up until about he was 8 weeks but I was hugely uneducated on breastfeeding and had no idea about supply or anything relating really. My partner would feed formula to give me a break and I would do breast. I felt really out of my depth, and felt judged about formula being easier and people watching so I regrettably stopped even though I really was set on doing it. We’re now 4 weeks later, my boobs have almost started to feel strange again and I’m wondering if I’m mad for thinking breastfeeding would be possible to resume (with a lot of work)?

You can absolutely start up again. You're right in that it might not be easy. Reach out to local support groups, consult a lactation expert and stay positive! You can do this

Thank you, I will look into it

I could not / didn't want to breastfeed my first baby, I felt more confident giving her formula. With my Second baby I started breastfeeding from day one and was 1000 times more easy. I m expecting no 3 now and I will 100 % breastfeed

Yes you can, it takes quite a bit of dedication as will include using a breast pump through the night but you can relactate. All the best OP!

Relactation is hard but totally possible. and as you haven’t stopped too long it is more likely to succeed. The key is acting like you have a newborn, so loads of skin to skin, loads of feeding as often as possible to stimulate the hormones.

Absolutely possible. Ideal to get real life support. Give LLL helpline a call and find your local LLL leader.
