Sippy cup?

Any suggestions on which brand is good? I tried a tommy tip one and it smelt toxic. And I tasted the water out of it and it was bitterly chemical tasting!!! 😱 I'm currently just giving my DD (7mth) a glass, held delicately by myself. Our Pediatric dietician said to get a sippy cup that didn't have sucking option, ie free flowing. DD is a choker still (since birth) I mean blue in face choker, so I'm hesitant to give free flowing just yet. Any suggestions on non toxic plastic options? She loves water and I'm keen to give her the opportunity to have more of it

The tommee tippee ones are BPA free, I've used them for years with every baby I've looked after and never noticed a weird taste.
If she's used to drinking from an open cup you could try the doidy cup (but again that's plastic) or a cup/ glass with a straw.

You can get toddler cups/plates made from bamboo, which is more environmentally friendly.

@NannyR yes, I bought it as said bpa free but it was so smelly. I washed it several times but I couldn't even drink out of it so I'm giving to my daughter. What about the stokke ones?

Bamboo is no good as most of it is impregnated with formaldehyde. Stainless steel is the best for water, IME - anything plastic always ends up tasting plasticky, or absorbing grease from the dishwasher, glass and ceramic are too breakable for toddlers so impractical. That said my kids have plastic, because they don't seem to mind, and occasionally I taste water from their cups and it seems OK, but my own water bottle and coffee cup are stainless steel.

Holding a glass works fine if you're OK to do that. I would also look at the 360 type cups - there are a couple of stainless steel options by Munchkin. I actually love the 360 ones and wish I'd just gone to them straight away rather than faffing around with spouty cups, straw cups and so on. They are silicone, but only the drinking part. They can be easily cleaned, which is the best part - no bits for gunk to get stuck where you can't reach.

We used a 360 Munchkin too and it was really good.
DD is now 23 months and using a Klean kanteen with a plastic attachment. When it gets too wrecked, we can replace the top as opposed to throwing the whole thing out. We can also change the spout so it grows with her.
