Breastfeeding Baby with teeth

Hey so I was mix feeding baby and we were doing so well until a few weeks ago and the hard work has gone down the drain.

Between illness and babies teeth coming through I’ve lost him on the boob as he’s clamping down instead of feeding.

I’m looking for any suggestions to try and get him back on boob.

I’ve not had much luck at expressing milk even though baby was doing amazing on mix feeding but I’m trying now with an elvie pump as it’s just better for me to try with that one vs the medela swing I have plug-in one.

Any help is much appreciated. Baby is only 8 months and I was hoping for a longer BF journey so I’m a bit gutted by it all.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the national breastfeeding helpline. No advice myself but I found them to be really good. Good luck Thanks

What happens if you offer boob first thing on waking or even while asleep?
I always found that the feeding reflex was easy to trigger like that & it fixed the awake feeding snafu Smile
I would also try lots of skin to skin

I used to unlatch and say “no” and put my son on the floor. It didn’t last long and my daughter didn’t do it.
Basically at least say “aw” and unlatch.
I think I read somethings on the kellymom website about nursing manners. So then I got the sense that you can say “no” to unwanted behaviour. Basically it will help you breastfeed longer if you decide what you don’t accept.

La la Leche might have some tips. Either the book or a group.

Sorry I misunderstood. Ring la la Leche. They will have tips.

I agree with skin to skin. Lying down together and relaxing together.
You could also find a lactation consultant. They will have loads of ideas.
