Omeprazole - liquid or tablet?

Hi, my baby has been prescribed liquid omeprazole for his silent reflux and he has responded so well to it. He refused to take it out of a syringe initially (I've tatsed it and it's awful) so I've been mixing it into a little bit of fruit puree in the mornings which worked well for a week. The issue we have now is that he has become wise to the taste of the omeprazole in his fruit purees and refusing to eat his food with it in. I've heard that most people are prescribed with the tablet form which is crushed up and added to food. Does anyone have experience of trying both and which worked better, I'm wondering if the crushed tablets are more easily hidden in the food?

My dd1 has capsules filled with chronospheres (sp?) which we open up and she takes on a spoon with some fruit puree. Whe have tried the tablets also but they taste rotten too and she has problems taking them.
