Breastfeeding to formula

Hi, I'm after a bit of advice on which formula is best to use after breastfeeding for 3 months.

I am now wanting to stop breastfeeding and change to formula, I have tried SMA however my little boy doesn't seem to like it. I was thinking of trying Aptimal? Just want to see what people's thoughts are.

I know breastfeeding is best but I have found it quite exhausting and feel as though I want my body back which I know sounds very selfish. It's also stopping me from going out as I don't like the thought of breastfeeding in public.

You could always formula feed during the day and continue BF in the evening and at night.

I got advised to start with the cheapest most widely available formula from your usual shop (as they are all very very similar and so tightly regulated), and then work your way through them if you need to. You want to be able to get hold of it so don't pick anything too obscure/only sold in one local shop. My DS was happy on cow and gate, we switched to the comfort version after a bit. It's all about marketing, they really are all similar.

They're all pretty much the same so I would do what pp had said and start from the cheapest and work up. We used mamia because we love aldi. However, DS has cmpa and is on prescription formula.
You'll get a lot of hate of here for stopping bf, but I want to say we'll done on making a decision that is right for you. It is not selfish to want your body back. A happy mum leads to a happier baby

Is it the formula or the bottle your baby is refusing? Do they take expressed milk from a bottle? Bottle refusing is a whole separate nightmare.

What I did was mix 3/4 bm and 1/4 fm into one bottle then next day go 1/2 and 1/2 and then day after 1/4 and 3/4 and then finally they’d drink it.

But at 3 months yiur baby is having a huge growth and development spurt and will demand more bm but it does settle down (on the flip side of you think actually I can stick with it).

You will have to sterilise every bottle which you don’t have to do with bm and please use boiling water to make up fresh milk as powder is not sterile.

I am in the same position and looking to stop breastfeeding, I have done it exclusively for 4.5 months. My baby will not take a bottle from me so slow weaning is out the window. Does anyone have experience with cold turkey? I know breast is best but there is no balance and it's really getting me down! Thanks!
