how much a week do we have by bf ?

I would have no idea.. i think its about £6 for a tin of Formula, but have no idea how many tins per week would be used.

Hopefully someone will give you answers soon.

When dd3 was ff as a newborn I was going through 1 1/2 to 2 tins a week as often she'd take just a few oz of a 5oz bottle then decide she wanted more about 2 hours later I reckon it could be about £8-10 a week. Thank God ds likes his mummy's milk!

wow 10 quid week thats 70 quid saving already ! and thats on tins ? wonder how much it would cost only using ready to feed formula ?

I spend £6.38 a week on tins (did with DS2 too).

remember it's not just the cost of formula, it's the bottles, teats, sterilisers, electricity to boil the kettle etc etc

do they??? DS1 (BF) was a once a week baby, DS2 - bottlefed - can't remember but reasonably regular........DS3 mix-fed 3 times a day (mind you he doesn't do massive up the back ones so we save on clothes washing )

I wish I had your luck Kittenbaby as BF has been hard for me and EXPENSIVE - £ for cabs to and from BF group, hiring a double pump, taking herbal supplements to increase milk, Lansinoh etc...In the last 10 weeks I have spend just under £300.

ooh no - i ate less - i couldnt get up to feed myself because I was stuck in a chair just b/feeding for what seemed like weeks

Surely cancelled out by the obscene spending on nursing bras! I could formula feed DS1 until he was 5 and still not break even I reckon.

nah, gomez. I got fairly cheap ones, and I was able to use them again with my second baby.

anyway, you need nursing bras when pg, and you need suitable bras after giving birth too - your old ones wont fit straight away, will they?

Hadn't thought about needing new ones anyway, mmmm. But I was rather large so cheap didn't do it - they were all about 30 quid a pop and in about 6 different sizes, have shrunk from a 34K to a rather droopy and unattractive 32DD since DS was born last October (although to be fair I have dropped a fair bit of lard too.)

Was the same with both the girls too thou'- mayve just me. A nursing bra fanatic perhaps .

No way I saved money bf as would just eat constantly with short toilet breaks, breaks to go to the shops to buy more food, my baby only feels happy when he has crumbs dropped on him.

Loopsy - where do you buy your aptimil??? It's only £5 something or other round here (Boots, Morrisons etc) - and cheaper than SMA!
