16 week old baby I'm at the end of my tether been to doctors roughly 10 times, hospital, health visitor. Fed up. Shes been on gaviscon, ranitidine max dose, omeprazole. Nothing is working I'm sick and tired of having a screaming baby all day who is clearly in agony and nobody listening to me. I'm about to go private and pay £250 just so somebody will listen. I feel like a shit parent and it is ruining mine and my daughters life. How on earth did people get past this?? Any miracle cures? And I dont want sit baby upright, smaller feeds.. I've tried literally all of that nonsense. Please somebody tell me it gets better. Her poor throat must be burnt out. Its turned into silent reflux too so much worse

We switched the milk to Cow & Gate comfort milk...it's thick and heavy and the weight of it seemed to stay in dd tummy. We had to buy faster flow teat because it was so thick (especially with medication in it). But it really did help.

This was us. Constant sickness. The only thing that finally stopped it was domperidone prescribed by the paediatrician. I took video evidence of my son. Good luck

You can get neocate from the pharmacy in the UK but it is £50 a pot, so you will need a long term prescription.

I have been where you are now. What worked for us...

  • neocate formula (dairy free)
  • increased dose of omeprazole. I was advised to dissolve it in boiling water and mix it in a spoonful of pear purée to ensure the baby had the whole dose. I gave it to her first thing in the morning before her first feed and I think in the evening 20 mins before her bedtime feed.
  • increased dose of ranitidine 3x per day, 20 mins before feed

It took going private to get on top of the situation and advice from a reflux specialist called Alison Scott Wright to get it under control (definitely read her book or arrange a call, she is a genius at dealing with reflux babies). It took 2 months to get her to sleep more than 40 mins at a time, as my daughter was very severe and we didn't get her diagnosed until she was 4 months old. But it was the best investment I've ever made going private. PM me if I can help at all or you'd like to compare notes.

My advice would be to start weaning as soon as you feel comfortable. Even if it's just a bit of baby porridge to begin with. Weaning was a miracle cure for my son and he's now off all his medication. He's still sick quite often but there is no screaming/pain now.

Thanks as I know how tough reflux can be
