so bit of a long one but the history is his all started about 8 weeks old and she is now 5 months. Started fussing/refusing feeds , uncomfortable an hour and a half after, being sick and regurgitates all the time which obviously catches her throat and she coughs. Referred to peads started on ranitidine had a good 3 and a half week spell feeding really well no problems then it felt like it stopped working overnight back to square one, started omeprazole once it kicked in had a good 6/7 days feeding and then back to square one dose has been increased and 2 weeks later no improvement. Her main thing is fussing/refusing feeds . We have tried nutramigen and Aptamil Pepti which she refused in case it’s cmpi so told to go back to normal Aptamil we have had Carobel in feeds and tried without no difference still sick and regurgitates all the time. Anyone any tips? Are reflux babies just fussy nightmare feeders? I’m at my wits end we started weaning advised by paediatrician however this doesn’t really solve my milk issue having a few spoons of veg. She’s always been a reAlly good sleeper however last two weeks she’s waking up crying out with her eyes close dummy in and goes asleep unsure if that’s related or just being a baby

I'm in the same boat with my 4.5 month old and my DC1 was also a reflux baby. In all honesty just stick it out for a bit longer and things should improve. Keep going with the weaning and milk feeds should reduce once solids increase. Only thing I can suggest is to try to encourage sitting up independently which helps the reflux and keep getting the dosage of the meds increased as baby puts on weight. Good luck, reflux babies are bloody hard work!

So this has been going on for 3months do you think it will Improve? I can wait for her to be having more food. So Do you think reflux babies are just nightmare feeders?
She will sit up but not for long pushes back and wants to try stand up. Yea we have had the meds tweaked with weight just feel nothing’s working

I don't think all reflux babies are difficult to feed. Ranitidine worked really well for my first baby but we had to get the dose upped every 2 weeks for the first 6 months to keep symptoms controlled. Once he got to 6 months old it gradually got better and he was off meds at 10 months old.

DC2 is a very fussy feeder and is regularly refusing feeds. He chokes and sicks up more than DC1 did. He's also on ranitidine but it's not working for him so I'm hoping to try omeprazole soon. He's on an amino acid formula for CMPA but his diarrhoea isn't improving either. I've no idea why this one is different and more difficult to feed although DC1 was more of a silent reflux whereas DC2 is vomity. I'm going to start weaning soon in the hope that it helps as I'm getting so fed up of the fussy feeding!

That’s very true suppose it can be a reflux thing and some babies are just not bothered with it, it’s so draining isn’t it. We had a good run with ranitidine to start with however I’d get her weighed like every two weeks and she has never gained that much for it to need increasing much if that makes sense.
We are on omeprazole the dose has been doubled since she started it praying this helps soon but loosing hope it’s going to now, we tried Aptamil pepti and nutramigen but she refused to drink them no matter what I done so back to normal milk. We have started weaning early but it’s made no difference to the fussy feeding. I’m just hoping she will be on 3 meals a day soon and cut some milk out less time battling to feed
