Wonky Breasts! one is growing bigger than the other,.....

Yes....this has happened to me. One breast is visibly larger than the other.

I'm pretty sure it's because since DD was about 10-12 months old we moved the bedside cot away and she sleeps in the middle of the bed, and I've probably ended up feeding more often from the breast next to her.
I had no idea it would make this much difference!
She's now 16 months and I've been trying to switch back to the other side to even things up, but now the big one seems to be her favourite and she's quite insistent.

Anyone else had experience of this? Please??!

I know exactly how you feel. My 8mo ds has never liked the right boob & now feeds solely from the left. I don't think I even have any milk in the right side these days. As a consequence they are totally different sizes & shapes & I can't wear skimpy summer tops as it's really obvious (not that there's been much call for summer tops so far this summer).

I'm glad it's not just me lol.

there's a kellymom page about this. Hope it's useful www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/lopsided.html

PMSL at that web page...

the juxtaposition of 'concerns' and 'lopsided' !!
I'll look it up, thanks x

Yes, it makes good sense, thank you.

I guess there's no need to worry about it having a permanent effect ? Once I stop bf I suppose things will mostly return to normal.

I've had wonky boobs since they appeared when I was 11-12ish. My left side is at least a full cup size bigger than the other..has made buying bras a real pain as the right one is always too big but even so its not really noticeable to others. Breastfeeding for 3 years seems to have helped a little in reducing the left one (or expanding the right?)...but not entirely as DS now unfortunately prefers the right one & always has that one first
