Please help! ...breast to bottles

Hiya, I'll try and keep this quite short.
My Ds is 16 weeks and breastfed, my dp has given him the odd bottle of expressed milk if I've had to go out somewhere, but we are now wanting to make this a regular occurrence (evening feed every night). We started at the weekend & DS takes the bottle fine but will then only settle if he comes on the boob afterwards and 'fed' to sleep.
I just think this defeats the object of giving him the bottle as I may as well just feed him, but I'm going back to work soon and I work evening shifts, so I would love some advice on how dp can get him to settle into bed after his bottle.
He's generally a great sleeper at night and once asleep will do a 6/7 hour stretch where I will then be home to do his middle of the night feed.

Thank you! x

Honestly? Your DP will work it out. When you aren't there and feeding to sleep is not an option, your DP will have to try rocking, singing, cuddling, just putting down, whatever. He will try stuff until something works.

This is not your problem. You already have a way of putting him down. Your DP needs to find his own.

Yes honestly Blush
DS just cries and cries until he comes on me for the comfort. I went downstairs last night while dp fed him and it took nearly three hours of crying on and off, before he finally settled. I don't like hearing that so I want to help where I can without stepping in.
he won't take a dummy after the bottle I think he's just looking for the comfort to send him off to sleep.

I know a friend who had a similar problem and what helped in the end was them leaving the house. I think she went to the pub and left dad to it! If you’re there, even in another room, he can smell you and your milk and will likely cry until he gets it.
