Boobs after breastfeeding?

Mypoorboobs · 01/03/2019 18:29

I’ve stopped breastfeeding except for the odd feed at night... 15 months later.
Enjoying a lovely bath and look down and notice not only are my deflated plastic bags now facing south and 2 sizes smaller than pre pregnancy... my nipples are indented.. as in, it’s like they’re sitting within a hole that’s too big for them!

Is this normal? Will my boobs return to normal?

I’m doomed to nipples that look like they’re escaping back inside forever aren’t I?!

It’s actually pregnancy and genetics that causes this , not just breastfeeding !

Once you have stopped bF a good bra helps .

Mine did recover to near pre breastfeeding state but 16 yrs on starting to defy gravity a bit !

Before you're feeding you're boobs contain a lot of fat. While you're feeding you loose some of this fat to make room for the mammary glands to be filled with milk. When you first stop feeding the glands reduce in size because of the lack of milk but the fat hasn't yet built back up. They'll get better after a little while.

They will get better - not like pre pregnancy but definitely better

Everyone says it’s pregnancy and not bf that causes it but mine are the same as pre pregnancy and I’ve never bf.

I mean they weren’t all that perky before but they’re no worse now Grin

I didn't breastfeed first baby but did breastfeed second baby!

Pregnancy ruined my boobs not breastfeeding..
Don't expect them to get any better..

Mine are the same as pre-pregnancy too and I've breastfed two babies for a combined total of 4 years. That's the genetic factor. But yes, the changes are largely caused by pregnancy - the feeding infrastructure, as it were, develops during pregnancy and is already in place by the birth.
