Easily distracted while feeding

My ds is sooooo easily distracted while bf during the day. During the night and first thing in the morning he's fine. But he sits up, tries to stand up, comes off the boob, mouth open dripping milk so he can look around, then goes back to suckling for a couple of minutes - then he's at it again. It takes ages to feed him and I end up covered in dripped milk.
For a couple of days I was just expressing and feeding him from a bottle - but I just felt like a milking machine that I went back to boobs today.
Any ideas or is he just losing interest at 6mo?

My dd became like this at around the same age. I ended up cutting down on her daytime milk feeds. She has always been fine in a quiet room, especially if it's dark, but when there are other people around she just finds them much too interesting to concentrate.

Is he having much solids yet? Once he is, it probably doesn't matter if he cuts down on milk a bit, especially if he is still having plenty morning and evening.

Perfectly normal imo! If he's hungry he'll feed. Both of mine were like this at the same age and would often come off dripping milk all over the place leaving a whopping nipple for all to see! Great at home but not so easy to disguise in Debenhams coffee shop!

Yep, I had to give up breastfeeding in public (or flashing as it became) at about 4 months. Now she has teeth its even more exciting when she turns her head really fast without letting go. Just stick with feeding in a quiet room. DD even looks at me questionly if I so much as brush my hair back from my face.

Bless him. I don't think he's losing interest in milk or boobs. Maybe he's just so efficient at feeding that he's taking what he needs in the first couple of minutes then getting side tracked by all the incredibly exciting and stimulating things around him. Try feeding him in the quiet or singing to him to get his attention focused on the job at hand again.

Glad it's not just me then!
I've been experimenting a bit with his solid portions as I thought maybe he was getting too much solids and putting him off his milk. But today he has had quite a lot of bfs (maybe thirsty as it's quite warm today)
