Green poos for days - how long did it last for your baby?

One of the mums I am working with at the moment is concerned that her baby has been pooing green for over a week... whilst several of us (BF counsellors, GP, HV,...) have tried to reassure her she wants to know how common it is.... I said I'd survey my favourite bunch ... so how long did a bout of green poos last with your baby and do you know what made it go away ?
Thank you in advance...

I have a bad memory about these things - but I think it was a week or two. I think that it is longer if you breast feed (may have remembered that wrong though!!). This brings back memories! The amount of time me and dh stooped over ds nappies examining his poo and worrying!

My dd did some green poos, varying in intensity from dark khaki to vivid dayglo green, on and off for a couple of months at one point. I worked out through b/f councillors and reading that it was due to too much foremilk (I had a very fast let-down and she'd often swallow big gulps of foremilk and get full before reaching the hind milk, especially with the first thing in the morning feed when she hadn't fed for 10 hours). I got in the habit of expressing just an ounce or two from my fullest breast before feeding her and the green poo miraculously vanished.

Thanks for this.... I am sure it's all fine but if I can get more testimonies I'd be really pleased.

Weeks - the occassinal regular poo, then back to green the next day.

Actually, solids made it go away. Became carroty-orange

About 2 weeks of green poos per bout in the first year - this is without other symptoms, or just a snotty nose. It usually meant a cold or tummy bug that cleared up of its own accord. My HV used to say 'wait a week then go to the GP' as you can't give anything for a virus or bug anyway.

pupuce, my dd1 had green poos for ages (can't remember exact timing but well over a week) when i took antibiotics for mastitis. was v worried the 3rd time i got it as didn't want to give her green poos again, i really fretted over how much it was affecting her gut flora and limiting the amount she could absorb, so took her to v nice gp who said she was doing fine. they did go eventually but i remember it was a very worrying time for me.
