How long does it take you to get through an 800g tub of formula?

7-10 days

CailleachBheurh · 24/02/2019 11:11

Formula’s expensive.

FartnissEverbeans · 27/02/2019 14:53

@PotteringAlong did she ask about the price of formula? I must have missed that.

Thesearmsofmine · 27/02/2019 14:55

About a week at that stage, as they starting taking more it would be a tub every 5 days. .

Samind · 27/02/2019 14:55

Depends how much they're drinking and how many bottles you waste i.e- not actually hungry but have wind/reflux and wanting a dummy etc it's great at the start cause it lasts ages then they turn into wee gobblers 😂😂

Formula’s expensive

true but not everyone can breastfeed

i hear aldi formula is alright and reasonably priced

Samind · 27/02/2019 15:04

If money is an issue (babies can take up the spends haha) then theres healthy start vouchers etc to go towards them. Most countries have their own incentives to look after mothers. @rosydreams, I wish I could of breastfed!!

Peanut91 · 27/02/2019 15:12

About 8 days as a newborn and 5-6 days at 5 months old

Nat6999 · 27/02/2019 15:13

I don't know if you can still do it but when my DS was a baby, if you got child tax credits you were allowed a discount on 1 tub of formula a week.

needsleepzzz · 27/02/2019 15:16

At newborn 9-10 days, as she got older and drank more then 5-7 days

Aldi formula was good, never had any issues with it and it mixed well

Toolchest13 · 27/02/2019 15:17

I agree about a week but don’t stockpile as I had to change formula 3 times and I wasted a couple of cans

RogueV · 05/03/2019 14:35

Hipp organic is £8.50 in ocado which I thought was quite reasonable?

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 05/03/2019 14:51

Usually about a week here for mine, she was feeding a lot too, not every 4 hours. She was a big baby with a big appetite. Still is nearly 4 years later!

I wouldn't stockpile if your baby is not yet born as they might not suit certain brands but def factor in that you may be buying a new tin every 5 days or so if you have a budget/ shopping day.
