Silent reflux

Sorry - wasn't sure where would be most appropriate to post this!

LG is 4 weeks tomorrow and for the last week has been really noisy during the night (barr short 30 minute bursts of quiet sleep periods), after coming back to bed from her 2am feed. This lasts for the rest of the night until she is brought downstairs for the morning.

The noises are grunts, grumbles and growls, and are coupled with thrashing movements of her legs and the baby equivalent of tossing and turning. She tends to be asleep while it happens but if left, will wake up and cry out. Her dummy settles her for five or so minutes.

She's FF (between 4-5oz every 3-4 hours) and has been having Infacol before each feed for a couple of days now. She has one big poo every couple of days and generally can part quite well with her wind.

Although she's mainly asleep when it happens, she definitely seems to be in discomfort and is so noisy it keeps me and DH awake.

She was quite sicky at the beginning of the week but doesn't normally bring up much more than a dribble otherwise. She does seem to have a little sick come up throughout the day though that she swallows.

Is this something we just have to wait out, or does it - like I think - sound like the beginning of silent reflux?

All newborns are loud thrashy sleepers based on my Baby and my friends', and throw up a lot! Does she arch her back a lot?

I think it sounds like normal baby behaviour too OP. You could try swaddling and white noise. If you suspect reflux, propping up the top end of her crib might help too Smile
