Bottlefeeding - do you need to sterilise the scoop to measure out milk powder once baby is six months?

but i never actually did sterilise them as never used the tub - just thought you needed to!

I only ever sterilised the bottles, never the scoops, the container or the scoop I scraped the powder off with.... After about 2 months with dd I then only ran the bottles (and dummies) through the dishwasher!

That sounds terrible now, but I hated all the fuss. DD actually never had any sickness or tummy upsets until she started catching them at nursery!

no never would have even thought about sterilising the scoop!!Or the knife, or the ice cube trays for fooddid sterilise the dishes and spoons for a while for ds1 but ds2 didn't get any such treatment! What a bad mother(slopes off)

It never even crossed my mind to sterilise the scoop!! So no, didn't do for my 3 - and will confess that I NEVER sterilised their spoons/bowls when they moved onto solids.

And dummies were sterilised when I remembered - goodness me, how on earth did they survive to become strapping 5, 7 and 9yos
