Prune juice

My baby strains very loudly and goes very red in thd face but when I check her nappy there is nothing there. This has been happening for a few days now. She's 7 months and we've been introducing solids since about 5.5 months. She's just started to try fish and meat, and I think it's causing her to have quite hard stools which are difficult to pass.

Today I've given her a very small amount of diluted prune juice (0.5 ounce with 2 ounces of water, and she had about 3 or 4 mouthfuls). I'm just wondering if I've done the right thing (a) diluting it and (b) giving her a small amount. My thinking was if it gets things moving without going OTT might be better for her.

She's a PFB so I'm def over thinking this. Help!

I'm sure she'll be fine with prune juice - for ease I always use the Prune Ella's kitchen pouches to soften poops!

Tesco now sell prune pouches at half the price of Ella ones.

We did blw but I used prune pouches when needed. She is nearly 3 and I still keep them in the house just in case.

Are the ellas/tesco pouches 100% prunes?

You can also give apple juice as it has the same effect or a teaspoon of demererra sugar dissolved in warm water. The high sugar content draws water into the bowel to soften the pop.

Are the ellas/tesco pouches 100% prunes? yes

Proper dark brown sugar, about half a quarter of a teaspoon mixed with an ounce of boiling water, leave to cool. Worked like a charm for my ds. Was a tip from the doctor.
