Sterilising MAM bottles and sterilising dummys

Hi

Wondered if anyone uses the MAM sterilising bottles and could answer me a quick question. In the instructions it says leave to cool in microwave 10mins then assemble.

Is the 10mins part of the sterilising process or just a recommendation based on thw bottles being too hot to handle? How long are the bottles classed as sterile before use?

Also with the MAM and Tommy Tippee dummys can you just pour over boiling kettle water and they are then classed as sterile?

When out and about could you take a sterile bottle and one of those premixed formula bottles? First trip out tomo!!!!

MAM bottles we never left 10mins. I think they say that because they are so hot straight after microwave. As long as you put lid on they’ll stay sterile for 24hrs or so? We just took out Pre made with us as found easier than making up formula when out.

Dummies should also be sterilised for same length of time as bottle technically.

We found cold water sterilising a lot easier if you have space for a box/bowl in kitchen. You just change water/tablet every 24hrs and stuff stays sterile....

Did you just microwave the mam bottles then bring our and assemble then they are sterile for 24hours?

I have been taking ours out. Leaving them to dry on kitchen roll and assembling and leaving like that until required.

I was going to use cold water steriliser for dummys but the chemical smell puts me off tbh.

We could sterilise in the microwave and then quickly make up the bottles. Then we knew the teat and inside of the bottle was sterile until ready for use

I used to do as pp they say 10 mins to cool but they were cooled quicker. I think it's a safety precaution and with the dummys I just sterilised and poured the water out if i needed to take them outside in the baby bag. Over used a few brands of bottles over 7 dc and found the mam ones the best.

With the dummys are you basing that on using the tubs the dummys came in?

We stupidly binned the boxes. Luckily i have a big tommee tippee steriliser sonjust bn batch sterilising them in that but im just wondering if there is a quick way to do it if we need one quickly.

We did used to sterilise dummies in the box they came in for quickness or would put all dummies in the steriliser and then keep boxes filled on the side for when we needed a replacement throughout the day or we were going out

Oh thats a good idea. I think i will purchase another box of dummies and do similar.
