Just curious... I used to spend all the time gazing adoringly at ds, of course but now sudoku has taken over.

These days I read but I used to gaze adoringly. If I had done anything else and spoilt the bonding process, we would have developed a dysfunctional relationship. Touch of the PFBs there methinks

NotQuiteCockney · 29/06/2007 18:46

I read.

I used to read, watch tv, talk on the phone, eat, whatever. But then, DS1 was pretty much a 24/7 feeder.

Jojay · 29/06/2007 18:46

It's amazing what an addict I became to daytime TV when DS was bf-ing - fortunately going cold turkey when I went back to work sorted me out and I'm back on the straight and narrow!!

Also remember eating Spag Bol while bf-ing ds and dropping it all over his head.....

Kathyis6incheshigh · 29/06/2007 18:47

I Mumsnet, of course.

ELR · 29/06/2007 18:48

read and ate

pinkspottywellies · 29/06/2007 18:49

I MN - typing badly with one hand (no capitals!). It's getting more difficult though as dd gets bigger because she kicks at the laptop and has nearly knocked if off the arm of the sofa!

TrinityRhino · 29/06/2007 18:50

another one here who watched daytime tv too much. i remember one time the deal or no deal music came on and dd turned in and started routing - that was the moment i realised i'd watched too much!!!

MadamePlatypus · 29/06/2007 19:55

Mid morning feed is infront of whatever I have sky plused from the night before. (DS is at nursery). Other feeds I am usually reading to DS/chasing after him or doing lego.

If its the weekend I abscond upstairs with the papers.

whomovedmychocolate · 29/06/2007 19:55

I read and type with one arm. I've been known to hold meetings while breastfeeding and cook as well.

whomovedmychocolate · 29/06/2007 19:55

I think my greatest triumph was assembling a table while breastfeeding though

Read, ate, watched a lot of TV, chatted about drills with Sky engineer(!)
AND on one particularly smug occasion, did a supermarket shop!

moondog · 29/06/2007 20:04

There is a super fit aerobics instructor in my neck of the woods who has taken classes while b/feeding.
Fantastic!

maisym · 29/06/2007 20:56

all other tasks - plus look after other kids - everything apart from ironing & moving hot pans.

internet, reading, telephone.

SconesandMajesticSandwiches · 29/06/2007 20:59

I am

The only thing I could ever do was hold her head with one hand and my nork with the other. If I let go of either it all went pearshaped .

I did just about manage to read over her but could only ever manage 1 page cos I could tur the page

daisyboo · 29/06/2007 21:00

i used to read, but now I either read (in bed) or MN with one hand (on the sofa) or catch up on telecons

and sometimes I look at her adoringly

FrannyandZooey · 29/06/2007 21:01

I used to read, and once dropped a hardback book on ds's head

the corner hit him first

there are huge holes in my reading in the last few years because I could only comfortably read small light books, one handed

anything over 300 pages, or in hardback (after I learnt from the above incident), was right out

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 21:02

These days I either dry dd's hair whilst she has a munch (evening) or lie in bed wishing she had slept longer whilst she bounces all over me (morning).

JoMa · 29/06/2007 21:02

Mumsnet, but he kicked the keyboard away and stopped me last night

paolosgirl · 29/06/2007 21:03

Watch TV, read, yak on the phone and occasionally when I feel guilty at neglecting the wee fellow, I gaze adoringly at him....for a whole couple of minutes, until something good comes on the telly!

maisym · 29/06/2007 21:03

bf & potty training really was a learning curve!!

Indith · 29/06/2007 21:06

read, eat, msn and mn

My poor laptop has had milk sprayed all over it.

hairycaterpillar · 29/06/2007 21:06

Earlier in week had to wipe particularly yucky poopy bottom (DS1's not mine!) whilst breastfeeding...eeuurrgghh!
