I used it for my second DC from around 5-6 months when I cut down breastfeeding. He got on fine with it. Formula in the UK is very strictly regulated and all brands have to comply with strict nutritional standards. Anything above and beyond the basic legal requirements is probably unnecessary and added primarily for marketing purposes. I’ll post a link to some useful guidance I read on this at the time. I used aptimil for my first as Aldi didn’t make their own at the time but didn’t notice any difference with the two of them. The only annoying thing is that Aldi don’t make a ready made version which is handy in little bottles for out and about so I just switched to aptimil on those occasions

I remember comparing ingredients when mine was little. It was almost like for like. I didn’t end up up using it as she wouldn’t accept a bottle or formula so ending up breastfeeding for an eternity 🙄

This links to a useful guide. The same website first steps nutrition trust also has a professionals guide which actually goes into the make up of each type of formula in the uk

i found for the switch with my daughter it was tricky but i did was ,
Its first finding a teat they like and first feeding breast milk. Then gradually over time adding small amounts of ready made formula to breast milk until they get used to it gradually adding more slowly over time so they dont notice

It’s made in the same factory as aptamil. Most people use the aptamil ready made when needed.

rosydreams · 13/01/2019 17:07

yeah looking at the ingredients it looks similar to aptimal which is good aptimal worked best for my daughter. So i will give it a try alongside ready made aptimal see how it gos
