she had a very sleepy day yesterday, sleeping for 5 hours, then 6 hours, but had a normal pattern last night and of 3-3.5 hours between feeds.

she fed at 4 and since the has only slept for about an hour and just wants to constantly feed and is getting quite agitated when i try to latch her on, but i think that's cos it's taking a bit of time for letdown and she's expecting instant gratification like she gets when my breasts are full.

i have noticed her latch is quite shallow, and she can cluck a bit at let-down but i'm not in any pain and she seems to be getting plenty (she had exceeded her birth weight by 3oz on day 13)

she has started pulling back through the course of the feed, but it gets quite tingly so i've been taking her off. sometimes she goes back on and other times she doesn't.
she generally has about 20 mins on each side, but sometimes only wants one side

not sure whether to keep feeding her or not as she seems to be getting very windy.

hi daisy love, the only advice i can give is that its so normal and it will pass. best thing is just to curl up on the couch with some bad tv or dvd, and cup of tea and a big bottle of water and go with it.
banana is right about the growth spurts, periodically they'll have a few days like this and it serves to increase your miilk supply as their little tummies get bigger and can handle more milk.
i'm sure it will all settle down soon for you. in the meantime the bf baby cafe sounds great as i'm sure they'll be women there that understand. sometimes it helps just to moan about it a bit i found

Thanks bananbump and amberjee....at least 've had a decent sleep tonight, so if she does it again today I'll be a little more emotionally prepared for it. So far, today after her big sleep, she's fed for 20 mins on one side and gone back to sleep! Might even get some housework done today, LOL.

I still think I need some advice re latch as it seems quite shallow, and she makes lots of sucking and clucking noises at letdown, then pulls back slowly throughout the feed till she's just on my nipples, but I'm trying to be firm with her and take her off and re-position when she does that.

So far, no real problems with vasospasm, mainly because her positioning is OK.

hopefully the BF cafe, there will be someone to help with latching? sounds like today might be a bit smoother for you
