Breast feeding

Hello ,
I need some advice on returning to work after first baby girl
At the moment she is fully breast feed
I will return to work in January so I have a month to plan something she will be 5 months old
I was thinking to breast feed her before I leave for work at 7am and her daddy to give her formula in the day I will then breast feed when I get home at 1530
What happens to the milk supply
I am worried to be leaking milk everywhere at work
Thanks in advance for any help

You should gradually start to change your regime now so your body learns to reduce the milk supply during the day. Despite the current fashion of advice, many babies of 5 months old are ready to begin solids. If you decrease your day feeds now you should reduce leakage . Wear pads anyway. Mixing breast feeding morning and evening with formula in the day is fine. I think it would be difficult now to stock pile expressed milk and it would actually increase your supply. If you have masses of milk you may want to express at work if there are facilities but this would actually keep your day supply coming which you may not want

Thank you for the good advice
I don't want to express at work
I want to reduce daytime supply
Plus She is interested in solids so will start weaning earlier than 6 months

'The current fashion of advice'?!? You mean the most up-to-date evidence that doctors and researchers have worked on for years that says weaning before 6 months is not good for the baby? What qualifies you to overrule it?

I know you said you don’t want to express at work, but you might find it more comfortable if you do just a bit, even if just for a week or so, to let your body adjust.

I know I would but it's a new job new people etc seems silly but don't feel comfortable expressing at work as not sure if the set up I have a month now to set up a routine
Only in theory dropping two day time feeds

Actually the most up to date evidence suggests 4 months is better due to a lower risk of allergies and iron deficiency. Who recommends 6 months as risk of tummy bugs from poor water supply outweighs riks of iron deficiency in many countries.
