My LG is 2 weeks old and has been having wind issues since day 1 originally thought milk was the issue changed that changed teats to a bigger size still no improvement LG started to projectile vomit once a day changed bottles and still the same I’m thinking she may be tonge tied it has not been picked up in her health checks has anyone else had this issue MW + HV have said she’s not crying in pain so no issues but I know there’s something wrong she gulps her feeds and only takes small amounts has a rest goes back but wriggles in discomfort burps but always seems to have wind (very smiley) I feel like I’m in a cycle of feeding and winding as one feed can take up to 2hrs by which time she’s hungry again and there seems to be no end and no sleep

Which bottles are you using?

I had this issue with TT bottles as they were too wide for my son's mouth. Perhaps try mam or Dr browns.

Also , have you tried infacol?

Have you tried nuk bottles and a feeding schedule? DD gets bad wind and vom-bombs. The vom bombs are usually when she's fed lots in a short period, gulping milk and taking in lots off air too fast.

I'd use smaller teats (Avent worked for me when I switched from EBF) and take time to stop and burp of you think she's gulping
(Infacol as PP said also great for helping disperse wind) what formula are you using?

I’m using Tommee tippee bottles MW told me to change to number 2 teats and you could hear her sucking in air she was working really hard then falling asleep mid feed I’ve been using infocol with every feed and has not made a difference I’ve changed to the anti colic bottles but again not made a difference some of her burps and pumps are like exploding (only way I can describe it) she then gets really powerful hiccups. She does not cry in discomfort but she wriggles and grunts especially after she’s winded first time and going back to her bottle. Never had any of this with my 1st her feeds are all over different amounts each time and different time scales depending on the amount she’s managed to get down.

Yeah , I'd invest in some Dr browns bottles and take it from there.

KeysHairbandNotepad · 20/11/2018 08:02

And keep using infacol too.

DD was in special care and the nurses there said that Tommy tippee are rubbish and literally the worst bottles to use. I was nuk with an infant medium flow teat. Slow flows take too much work to get a decent feed. The mediums are a bit fast but better than others.

You used to be able to get anti-colic teats. They had a small pimple with a hole near the base to reduce gulping. Not sure whether they’re still available. Seems something similar is still, around -
