Gassy Baby

Hi all, first post on here so I'll keep it brief...

Our brand new baby boy really has trouble setting at night, usually seems ok when lying on one of us, but we can't sleep like that... as soon as we put him in the overpriced next to me cot, on his back he starts to squirm, thrashes his legs and scrunches up his face... then within mins, starts crying.

It looks to be gas related, but Iv tried winding him over and over and nothing more comes out the top, but I can hear gurgling down below, becoming more convinced by the night he's having issues passing gas out the back...

Alas he is only 19 days old, so not sure where that leaves me with options... iv tried the bike leg thing, and massaging his belly a little, but that seems to just upset him more :(

Any ideas :)

Congratulations on your new baby! Infacol and Dentinox can both be given from birth and gripe water from 1 month. Dd1 was bottle fed from early on and we found Dr Brown bottles helped a huge amount. That along with baby massage eased the wind

We've found mam bottles good, I've heard good things about dr browns too. I think most babies are gassy and make a fuss when they pass wind so don't feel like you're doing anything wrong.

It’s just a baby thing. Honestly. His tiny little digestive system has to get used to working and it can be upsetting for him. He’s gone from everything happening for him- now he has to eat, poop, fart, digest food, be changed etc. It’s very hard for a baby- such a wee hard life! Google the fourth trimester and share the sleepless nights- one of you sleep while the other lets him sleep on top them. This too shall pass- by the time he goes to school! 😂

We have had the same and I can honestly say that infacol has worked wonders. We have gone from sleeping on us or short catnaps to sleeping for 4 hour stretches at night.
