Babies first cold

So LO is approaching 7 months old and has just got his first cold so it's hit him pretty hard. Usual cold symptoms for the first few days I wasn't worried it's just heartbreaking to see them like that! 3 days in he decides he doesn't want to feed, I expected him to go off his food and milk but not as much as this.

I was worried so spoke to docs and health visitor and they just gave me usual advice - don't worry about food just concentrate on milk and keep his fluids up as long as he doesn't show signs of dehydration and he has wet nappies he is fine -

But he just is NOT interested in his milk, water or juice. I've even tried watered down cordial and orange juice as it's that bit sweeter but he doesnt even want that. I can get him to eat a bit of freezing cold yoghurt (teething aswell) but is there any tips or tricks you mums have tried. I can only force him so much because then he cries and coughs and throws up the little bit of milk he has taken 🙁

Long one I know, sorry!
Any advice much appreciated..

Worried mum! X

If frozen works go with it. Maybe his throat hurts? Try frozen formula or breastmilk and watered down juice pops? Give some Calpol half an hour before and then offer food and water?

Also have you tried syringe feeding liquids bit by bit?

@ZackPizzazz sorry forgot to mention I'm giving him calpol 20 minutes before feeding and I've tried cold everything it's just the liquid he won't take I've tried watering porridge down with milk (porridge is his absolute favourite) but it's as if he's sniffing the milk out so refuses to eat it

Snufflebabe is Vicks Vaporub for little ones, helps the congestion.
Snot sucker, not a bulb one, we have one with a spout and tube. Although tbh when he was very small I just put my mouth over his nose and sucked and spat. Not for you if you are squeamish but I'd rather that than watch him struggle.
Try and get him to sleep with his head slightly elevated, will also help with the congestion, pop a folded towel under the sheet.
