I gave birth to my ds on monday evening, I have been fairly determined that I would bottle feed him as I had problems weaning my daughter off the breast. I think I might be changing my mind now. Have I left it too late and if not what can I do about it?
I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Fantastic Ginger.

Not passing judgement but really surprised at your initial decision to bottlefeed after having had a successsful breastfeeding experience

I can understand it moondog! I only had 3 montsh between stopping feeding DS1 and giving birth to DS2. DS1 self weaned when i was 6 montsh pregnant. i can understand that you might feel thats it all a bit much, especially if you couldnt get your toddler off the breast and you want to stop!

lots of mums dont fancy tandem feeding either

i can see that you might feel that you just want your body back IYSWIM

Moondog I have a small age gap between my two children, only 15 months. I wasn't sure how I would cope with the two of them and breastfeeding the baby. I did feel before I gave birth like Kristina suggested that I wanted my body back after being pregnant and/or breastfeeding for the last 2 years. But when it came down to it I felt too guilty about not breastfeeding, so will have to find a way to manage.

gingergirl - I can completely understand your hesitations as it can be really really tough breastfeeding a newborn with a toddler around. One thing I found a real help was to always use a breastfeeding cushion which meant I had both hands free to read books, wipe noses, brush hair etc! Even now I feed in the armchair with my cushion and my toddler knows it's time to get her books out and comes and perches on the arm chair. Then you have the joys of potty training - my toddler seems to wait till little one is latched on and feeding and then decides to do a poo! Ah, the joys. Well done for what you've done so far and best wishes.

hi if your having probs with your milk supply you can try taking drug maxalon (will need to get from gp) it makes you produce milk. took it wil my dd and it well and truely worked. gp's bit clueless, talk to your midwife as certain way to take it. not actually meant for this, its an anti-sickness drug but milk production a side effect

CONGRATULATIONS. I had problems feeding Tom in the first few days and am pleased to say that 14 months on, he is still Breastfed! Although I do plan to stop soon.
