Dropping top-ups

My lb is 10 weeks old and we've over come quite a few problems in that time. He had tt cut twice and wouldn't feed without nipple shields. TT is now healed and he is feeding more efficiently without the nipple shields.

He is gaining weigh nicely now and we've dropped his top-ups since Sunday with healthcare advice. I've been nappy monitoring like crazy.

I had him weighed on Tuesday and he was 9lbs8 so 13oz up on what he was 2.5weeks ago. I'm going to get him weighed again on Friday because I'm so worried about his weight.

Anyway yesterday he did 7 wet nappies and no dirty. That's fine as he did 2 dirty nappies the day before. He also had about 11 wet nappies the day before. Last night he was asleep at 8-3. When he woke no wet nappy. This morning when he woke it wasn't a heavy wet nappy as I expected and he's very sleepy. I offered a top-up last night of breastmilk but he didn't want it. I've given him a top-up this morning of breastmilk but should I be concerned? He has been cluster feeding for the last few days.

I really don't want to have to go back to offering top-ups but obviously will if I need to. When he is feeding he is coming away smiling and fists aren't clenched. I'm swapping sides regularly, I'm doing breast compressions. I'm drinking plenty, etc

I would not worry at this stage, wait to see how weight is on Friday. It sounds like you are doing fab so far! It's very easy to obsess over length of feeds/nappies/etc but baby will soon tell you if they are unhappy or hungry! Ideally baby would be pooping at least once a day but their system my just be settling in to the change in milk?
