Toddler milk?

I weaned my toddler off bottles into cups, he loves his stage 3 cow and gate. He has 2 5oz cups a day (occasionally 3) and has tried cow's milk but isn't a big fan. Should I try to wean him off formula or just let him be? I also want to get him off a dummy so think that should be a priority but not sure if there's a need to wean off formula? Everyone I speak to think it's odd that he's still on formula but I quite like that it's got all that added goodness and I was still breastfeeding my oldest at this point (14months) X

I don't see any point in it tbh. I'd try mixing the cows milk in with it and gradually increase the amount of cows milk

Can't I just wean him off milk completely? He has cheese, yoghurt, cereal or porridge with cow's milk and the odd cup, when do they need to drink milk until?

I don't remember ever drinking it as a kid and still only will as part of a hot milk drink or milkshake now 😂

If you're going to keep using formula use the first stage. The others have extra sugars in.

Tbh if he's got a good diet there's no real need for the milk

With the amount of formula he is on he will still need to have multivitamins daily so he does not need any more ‘goodness’, just a healthy balanced diet and 350 mg of calcium a day.

He really doesn't need formula at that age if he's eating a decent diet. The toddler milk has vanilla in it which might make it taste a bit sweeter than cows milk - could you add a tiny drop of vanilla extract to the cows milk to help him transition, maybe?

His diet isn't great tbh because he didn't have teeth for ages and lived off formula, purées and gummed bits of toast for far too long. Now I am just grateful he's eating solids tbh. Even if it's biscuits/crisps/sausages more than it is apples/pears/carrot/cucumber. He goes like peas, broccoli and cauliflower and cooked carrots. But it's still a struggle to get him to eat full meals. It's still finger foods, pouches, vitamins and formula for the most part. I am trying to get him to eat more proper meals but it's not often successful. I think if I just keep offering it up we'll get there in the end.

In that case I would definitely start reducing the formula. For future children - they don’t need teeth to each because their gums are hard.

I think it was a texture thing where he had purées for too long. He did go onto the chunkier baby food but relied much too much on a diet of baby cereal and fruit purée or weetabix for breakfast, savoury jar and crisps or toast for lunch, then savoury jar followed by sweet jar/ fromage Frai/ fruit purée for dinner. Plus 3 or 4 bottles a day. Obviously he's taken some big steps with textures and solids since then but I think it's where he should have had solids sooner. And yes, it was due to him not getting teeth but also convenience, knowing salt contents and things and his dislike of any new textures which all kind of fed into each other.
