Reusable breastpads

I'm hoping to breastfeed again when my baby arrives in December. I breastfed my son but used disposable pads. This time I'd like to try reusable pads...any recommendations on tried and tested pads?

Consider beast shells. Can collect all that precious milk- so long as you can get it into a the fridge at a semi regular basis

I loved my bambooty ones. Breast shells were also useful, but not when out and about. Now I use my old breast pads as make up remover pads

Ana Wiz Washable Natural Bamboo Breast Pads (Mixed, Pack of 12) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00KRGNMOS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_98YUBbSQY733S?tag=mumsnetforum-21

Currently on second baby with these, they're lovely and soft.

Any kind of pad floated about, not sure if having big boobs was a factor. I stuck a bit of cloth/muslin down if need be, otherwise put up with a bit of leakage, soon sorted itself out. Slept with a flannel up my top at night as that was worst for leaking.
But sure, give them a go!

Thanks I'll take a look at this brand, it's good to have somewhere to start....there's so many! I like the idea of repurposing them when I'm done rather than just throwing them in the bin! It's awful to think how many I threw away last time!

Thank you for the link, I'll have a look. I really appreciate people's opinions. Flowers

I was forever a bit leaky/paranoid of leaking, so largely it's a peace of mind thing. I got on fine with disposable ones and found they stayed put within my bra, but would like to find something a bit more environmentally and purse friendly this time Smile

I used the Tesco and boots ones which I found good. Planning on using them again this time.

I had some bamboo ones from amazon but they stuck to my nipples 😖

pheasant1 · 11/10/2018 13:28

I got little lambs bamboo ones from the Nappy Lady website; there are other brands on there as well. They seem ok. Slightly fluffy and for some reason prone to disappearing. There's probably a stash someplace... Confused

I'm using cheeky wipes pads, very happy with them. I think they're bamboo - I've never had a leak.

Thistles24 · 21/10/2018 09:13

I used avent ones last time and they were great. Got bamboo ones this time and had so many leaks I’ve gone back to lansinoh disposables- no sign of any leaks with them. Although I did wash them with fabric conditioner by accident, which makes things less absorbent. Once my supply has settled and I’m less leaky I’ll probably go back to them- between the nappies, maternity pads and breast pads I’m feeling guilty at the increase of plastic!
