Come and talk to me about poo!

This afternoon, exclusively-bf ds (8weeks) suddenly did poo that was green rather than mustard-yellow and even more watery than usual - what's with that, please?!

IMHO, greeny poo is nothing to be worried about. It can mean that your DS has been taking more of the watery fore-milk (which comes when they first latch on) than the thicker hind-milk. This is quite common when it is very hot as they want a drink opposed to a full meal. Has she been bobbing on and off the boob over the past day or so?
That's just my experience. They're are some great people on MN who know lots about BFing so if you hang around you will get probably some expert advice as well.

oh, thanks zakismum - he messed me around all night with 2- and 4-minute feeds. He was starving this morning though and has fed well all day so hopefully we'll be back to the good yellow stuff tomorrow. thanks, just didn't want to fret all night!

As far as I know, green poo is nothing to worry about. If you want more info do a search on it here on MN as I know it has been discussed before.

My DS has done this occasionally and it seemed to coincide with him being particularly sicky and windy. I also read it can happen if they are a little dehydrated which made sense with him being sick lots. It does give you a bit of a shock as it's a particularly lurid shade of green but it doesn't worry me any more. Perhaps if it happened consistently over a period of time but DS only ever did 1 or 2 green poos and would then be back to the good old mustard yellow. HTH.
