Swapping BF for a snack as a one off

Hope someone can help me, I was going to ask my HV but can't get through at the moment so thought I'd ask here instead!

My 9.5 month old is on 3 BF a day now - on waking, around 3pm and at bed. She loves her food...! She is very easily distracted now so the 3pm feed is in the lounge without the TV on etc as otherwise she's not interested. She recently dropped the 11am feed which I've replaced with a snack and a drink (as advised by HV).

My issue is that we are out for her afternoon one day this weekend and I know she will not be interested in 3pm BF. Even if I find a quiet spot (which will be difficult given where we are) she'll be interested in new surroundings so will be on off on off at the very best.

My question is, can I a) drop this BF just for that day and give her a snack and a drink instead? Like I said she loves her food so this wouldn't bother her. Or b) swap snacks and BF that day so she has BF at home at 11am and snack while I'm out at 3pm. I wasn't sure if that would be possible given my supply has finally regulated (I leaked and leaked for the first 7 months...) - would I have milk there at 11am??!!! I have no clue!!

Either or will be completely fine Smile

Swapping for a snack is completely fine. The worst thing that could happen is you might feel a bit fuller than normal.

Sorry Pottering, didn't mean to mirror your post!

Do whatever suits you. My dd dropped to two feeds at 10 months and abandoned the morning feed at 11 months.

Thanks all!

InDubiousBattle - I don't think she'd be bothered actually if she always had a snack instead of the BF mid afternoon, she definitely prefers her food!

When your little one dropped the morning feed did you replace with anything or go straight to breakfast?

It’ll be fine. You clearly have a good, settled supply.

I used to do the bed time feed five nights out of seven when dd2 was a toddler (because of work) and that worked fine, too.
