The logistics of switching to formula from breastfeeding?

I've pretty much decided that I want to give up BFing my 11wk old. There are several issues but the main one is that the constant demand is making me miserable and I'm struggling. I need to be able to have a break. The switch is for my sanity...

So I have several questions!
-How do you switch? Presumably you don't just go cold turkey on the breastmilk and go straight to 100% FF? Does it need to be a gradual switch? How gradual and how long will it take before my baby is completely FF?
-How do you know which brand of formula to buy or is it just trial and error?
-Is it sensible to buy a few ready made cartons of different brands to see which one my baby likes before buying a big tub of powder? Do ready made ones taste the same as the powder mix? (So if baby likes, for example, C&G ready made, will he like the C&G powder?)
-How much roughly does it cost per week to FF?

That's all I can think of for now but if anyone has any other advice that I've maybe not thought of, that'd be fab. Thanks!

Only thing I can answer is don't switch formula to breast milk instantly - gave my DD horrible tummy pains as formula was harder on her tummy after only having BM. Mix it with breast milk so say 10% formula for the first feed and work your way up to 100% over a week or so. And yeah I found trial and error the best way to see which brand worked for her

Switch gradually so the baby gets used to the change and you don't end up with mastitis. You can mix formula and BM to help them adjust.

Worth getting a few of the ready made bottles in to try before buying a big tub of powder.

Try and get baby used to the bottle as a first step
Some babies are fine with it, others you have to leave with someone else for a whole day before they contemplate a bottle, others will have a bottle easily with anyone who is not you!
So try breast milk in a bottle
Then research different formulas and see which one you like the most and mix it a little at a time. You can start with ready made just to stop the unnecessary waste incase they don't agree with it, then just gradually reduce the amount of bm and increase the amount of formula

I find it hard work pumping, takes me ages and I can only get 3oz out at the most. He will happily take a bottle though with no problem. I was thinking I could BF him, cut the feed short and then top up with formula, just a little bit at first and then gradually increase the formula and decrease the BF. Would that work?

Watching this with interest as probably planning to do this gradually over the next month or so if mixed feeding doesn't work out, my DD is 7 weeks and I still have pain BFing her and damaged nipples despite BF peer support workers, midwives, and infant feeding team all saying latch looks good Hmm.

I don't see why it couldn't
