So my daughter is on Aldi formula(blue tin), she has been since we came home from the hospital and we've had no issues etc. She will be 6 months in a couple of weeks and wondered if anybody could tell me what the difference is between the blue tin and the red tin which is from 6 months. Is this necessary to move her onto the red tin? We have been weaning her since she turned 4 months using from 4 months pouches and jars etc. Any advice would be great :)

No it isn't necessary. They can use first milk up to 1 year and then move to cows milk

There’s no need to swap at all, in fact the bus recommend staying in the first milk until they are one. There’s also been sone research to say that the extra iron in follow on milk can be harmful.

Don't swap. There are more sugars in the follow on milk. Follow on milk only exists because there are laws on advertising formula and they are a loophole

I did swap by about 9 months as the follow on milk was cheaper and you could get offers on it

Okay thanks guys I'm just gonna stick to the blue one :)

I working in marketing - basically it's illegal to promote benefits/nutrition of newborn formula. But the law does allow companies to promote/advertise 'follow on' formula from 6 month onwards so they tweak the ingredients and create new products (at higher prices usually). No reason to switch if you don't want to!
