Still using Bottles?

Is it ok that my baby still have her milk in bottles three times a day? She's nearly nine months old and iv read somewhere that babies should be weaned off bottles after 6 months and start using beakers, she has water in a sippee cup throughout the day but then still has all her milk in her bottles. Any advice? Thanks

It's 12 months, not 6 months.

Have you tried giving her milk in a sippy cup? Tbh at 9 months I wouldn't worry too much but I would say try to get her off bottles by 1 year. Not good for their teeth.

My DD started with water in a sippy cup at about 5 months and once she was used to it I gave her milk in them. Had gotten rid of the bottles by 10 months if I remember rightly. But she didn't make much of a fuss. I'm sure some do struggle with getting rid of bottles.

The advice is to wean off bottles at 12 months, not 6 months. So by the time your DD is 1 she’ll probably have cut down to only having milk before bed so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. And she’s already drinking her water from a sippy cup which is a good start.

Mine is 13 months and we’ve just managed to switch her pre-bed bottle (the only bottle she still has) from formula to cow’s milk; she was resistant to the change so we had to do it gradually. The next thing will be to swap the bottle out for a sippy cup at bedtime so we’ll see how that goes!

My DS is nearly 15 months and still has a bottle at night.
