Colic tips

I've been told this morning by GP that my DD has colic (something I dreaded). I'm relieved that it's not something more serious and myself and my husband are ready to battle through the next months but we wondered if anyone has any advice who has been here before?
We have Colief and Infacol at the ready and I've ordered mattress wedges from amazon.
Any advice to help us prepare would be great.
Thanks in advance

I think I commented on one of your other threads. Does LO have any symptoms if CMPA?

Did the GP say what they suspecting was causing the colic?

I didn't even know what CMPA was until I just googled it. I checked symptoms and yes she does but surely doctor would have picked up on that?
This is driving me mad, every time I think we have figured out what's the matter someone throws another possibility into the mix

We found gripe water more effective than infacol but don't think they can take it until a month old.

We've been struggling with colic since 2 weeks old, all day screaming though! Hes now 2 months and we've tried everything, infacol made him sick, colief worked for a few days, comfort milk made him worse! I was getting worn out with it, it was either he was having disturbed sleep or he was screaming and refused to be put down all day. It was relentless. The past week we've switched milk he's been on hipp organic with mam bottles and dentinox in the milk and hes like a different baby! He's happy when he's awake and sleeps soundly. Not sure which has done it or the combination but I hope you find what works for you. I also found when he was at his peak in the late evening bath and swaddle really helped. Also tiger in the tree and walking laps round the house if he was really worked up.

The problem is, things like tongue tie and CMPA can present with very similar symptoms and now that SMA and Aptamil are causing problems too, it’s likely to take a while before you find out what’s wrong.

As per the other thread, I’d go with the suggestion of using ready made for a couple of days from a different brand and see if that clears up her colic.

Hope you find out what it is soon Thanks

My DS had really bad colic from about 2 weeks up until 4.5months. We tried absolutely everything. Most things worked for a few days when we too thought we had cracked it but then it would start over again. Initially started on aptamil and infacol, worked for a few weeks then tried colief drops which made it a whole lot worse. We then switched to HiPP organic and mam bottles along with gripe water and that seemed to help slightly but I think sometimes you just have to ride it out as hard as it is. We were desperate for a solution to help stop the screaming and discomfort. We would walk up and down the hallway for hours on end. You end up wishing the time away to get over the bad patch. It doesn’t feel like it at the time but it will go very quickly and it will get better. Just know that you are doing a brilliant job Flowers

When my DS had colic it was an absolute nightmare. He would scream until he went blue from 10pm-8am every night without fail. At some points I just couldn't deal with it so I feel your pain and your poor baby's! I found the only thing that helped was using infacol and dentinox together. I would give the infacol orally and put the dentinox in his milk bottle at the same time. This really seemed to help relieve the pain. Also would rub a little bit of olive oil in his belly button just to help with the trapped wind. Seemed to help too. I hope this helps you!
