Sterilising bottles... help!

Hi all!
I’ve got a tommee tippee steriliser, it says that once sterilised then the bottles will be good for up to 24hours (providing the lid stays on) but once the lid is removed the bottles only stay sterilised for an hour.
I’m finding that I’m making a bottle and then having to re sterilise everything because it’s not being used within the hour.
There’s got to be an easier way? Is there somehow I can sterilise all my bottles and keep them sterilised? Help would be appreciated!
Thank you

Didn't realise that. Been doing it wrong for 8 months then 🤔

I’m pretty sure that’s what it says somewhere in the leaflet that came with our machine. How do you sterilise yours?

It will be fine, my daughter is nearly 2 and we sterlised every time it was full rather than an hour after the lid was taken off, she never had any tummy problems!

Once the steriliser finishes, assemble all the bottles and they are ok for 24 hours

Ive always taken it as ye bottle is sterilised for 24hours whilst the bottle lid is on... if not then my baby’s bottles and all of the bottles I sterilised whilst working in a nursery aren’t clean... I sterilise my bottles every night for the day after and have no problems.

I would be more bothered about formula being made up correctly with hot water than bottles that have been sterilised and not used within an hour. As I said, just assemble the bottles ready for use

Make the bottles up (empty) and they are sterile for 24 hours. I had this confusion when I first used it too.

Thanks everyone! Thought there must be a simple solution! Smile

I should mention we did make the bottles as others have said ..

Omg I didn't realise! I've just been sterilising when they all run out! Surely that means you have to sterilise after every single bottle? Oops! 😱

dementedpixie · 15/06/2018 20:29

Did you read the thread at all? You are fine to sterilise all at once and then assemble the bottles for using throughout the day

Cold water steriliser is the best thing I brought. Had microwave and electric and hated both. Didn't trust either! Now I just wash and throw them in, fish out when I need and I know they're staying sterile.
