Ftm to a 4 week old and I've really struggled to bf, first there was a latching issue resulting in horribly cracked and bleeding nipples then a case of thrush which is now healing.
I'm finally getting comfortable with it but I feel like I have too much milk? All I see online is threads about increasing milk but my breasts constantly feel full I can express 5oz easily in 10 minutes from one breast after DD has just fed from the same one.
I've only expressed a couple times to relieve engorgement I don't want to stimulate any more milk production. I brought a manual pump to catch the spray of milk that comes from the opposite breast when I feed. They never feel drained and I'm scared ill end up with blocked ducts.
She eats every two hours and I feel like she's choking on my milk it comes out full force when she eats which means she comes off coughing and spluttering, I try and use the manual pump to relieve some of the let down before I give her the breast back but yesterday it just kept spraying while she cried and I got 3oz without even pumping.
She's getting frustrated and windy she only feeds for 5-10 minutes will never take the other breast and is really struggling with trapped wind which I can't get up no matter now much I burp her, she just lays there at night grunting and pulling her little legs up trying to get it out :(
Is this just a normal part of breast feeding? Feeling so terrible for her I've finally cracked how painful feeding was and now I feel like I'm just making her uncomfortable :(
