Does anyone else hate breastfeeding?

Ok-I hate breastfeeding. I’ve had an awful relationship with it from the very beginning with a tongue tied fussy baby.
10 weeks in and she’s still super fussy...nothing wrong with her, in fact she’s thriving and very chubby. I’ve seen lactation consultants etc but it’s just a constant battle unless she’s super sleepy and then she feeds perfectly.
I’m not gonna give it up, I’m very persistent and whilst there’s nothing wrong with formula feeding, I just don’t want to do it.
My mum (breastfed all 4 of us) keeps telling me it will just click and be easy when she’s 3/4 months old and that I’ll enjoy it but I’m not holding out much hope.
Basically all I want to know is that I’m not the only one that despises it...anyone?
Xx

Similar to you gunpowder, my DS had tongue tie and silent reflux (which went undiagnosed for a long time and we only realised when it got so bad that we realised something must be up) and it made breastfeeding - and parenting as a whole - very difficult at times. So even though I enjoy breastfeeding I’ve had moments of not enjoying it and can understand (or at least try to understand) why people wouldn’t enjoy it.

Why not just stop though? I think it’s a shame that as mothers we feel such a strong pull of obligation and guilt to carry on doing something that we hate. I really hope those of you who want to can give yourself permission to stop breastfeeding with no/permission guilt.

I meant to write no/minimal guilt

It is really hard though to stop doing it just because you hate it. I kept thinking I'd surely start enjoying it at some point as that's what everyone does? Just keep going another week, then maybe... And people go on and on and on about the benefits of BFing which makes it so hard to stop and say 'actually, I hate this, I'm going to stop'. Plus some people have a bottle refuser which means they're stuck with it.

I really wish I'd stopped, but I didn't, I just kept driving myself onward, making our first year together really miserable. Down to 2 or 3 feeds a week now and DD is almost 2.5 years old. I did stop outright loathing it at about ten months. Then it just became a chore like doing the washing up, which made it a little easier to handle.

Why not just stop though?

As I mentioned above, I had a complete bottle refuser. She never once allowed a bottle to pass her lips.

Thanks @NameChange30 , the nhs team we see are supposed to be national specialists in tongue tie, so I don't think that is the issue. She just clamps down on the nipple to control the flow I think. I would dearly love to just stop but not had any success with the many bottles we have tried. Next attempt will be a sippy cup but I'm not hopeful Confused
